The Domestic Violence Secretariat under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and its development partners have hosted a symposium to launch the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence on 25th November, 2019 at the Osu Presbyterian Hall, Accra.
It was under the theme: “Call it out: Stop Sexual Violence against Women and Girls Now”
The 16 Days of Activism is an International Campaign that is embarked by countries, organizations and individuals to help intensify awareness on issues of sexual and gender-based violence in order to fight the menace.
In view of this, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison has launched the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign.
The objectives of the campaign is to:
• Mobilize support from the general public for the prevention and elimination of sexual and gender-based violence in Ghana.
• Strengthen networking among key stakeholders to help fight sexual and gender based-based violence.
