The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has held its staff durbar for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2020 at the CLOGSAG Auditorium in Accra on Friday 24th January, 2020.
The durbar was well attended by over Four Hundred staff from the various departments, Secretariats, Units and Council under the Ministry.
The Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Freda Prempeh in her welcome address has commended staff of the Ministry for their hard work towards the progress of the Ministry.
She therefore pledged the unflinching support of her sector Minister, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison and her able self to help drive towards the achievement of the Ministry’s goals.
Hon. Freda Prempeh encouraged staff to work hard to support the vulnerable since the Ministry is a problem solving one which usually tackles issues of human / child trafficking, child labour, rape, social protection, adoption amongst others.
The Chief Director, Dr. Afisah Zakariah also promised to continually see to the welfare of all staff within the Ministry to ensure that they have a conducive environment for working.
She on behalf of the staff thanked the sector Minister and her Deputy for their exemplary leadership and pledged to ensure that with the support from her staff they will chalk more successes this year.
The various management heads also pledged to personally support the growth of the various rehabilitation centres under the Department of Social Welfare with some relief items including sewing machines, tape measures, fabrics amongst others aside government’s support.
They also promised to continue this kind gesture yearly as a form of their widow’s mite to the centres.
