The Third Battalion of Infantry of the Ghana Army in Sunyani has held a pulling-out ceremony for Lieutenant-Colonel DNK Adjetey, the Former Commanding Officer of Bono,Bono East and Ahafo Region,who has now been assigned to the Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters in Accra.
At a colourful ceremony at the Liberation Barracks in Sunyani on Thursday,witnessed by few people due to ban on public gathering activities.
The was also attended by Bono Regional Minister,MMDCs,other members of the Regional Security Council(REGSEC), security Capos, Traditional rulers and heads of department.
It was done to honour him for his long service, dedication and commitment as a Commanding Officer.
Taking over from the outgoing commanding officer is Lt. Col JY Kwateng.
In a farewell address, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Evelyn Ama Kumi-Richardson,extended her heartfelt appreciation to out-going Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel DNK Adjetey and described him as friendly, hardworking and discipline Soldier”.
” I wish to acknowledge the hard work,discipline, rich experience, humility, diligence and immeasurable commitment and contribution of Lt.Col. DNK Adjetey which he brought to bear on the meeting of (REGSEC) in particular and which has in no mean at inured positively to the maintenance of peace and and security in the region in general “.
” I am with the firm conviction and believe that, DNK Adjetey will continue to work and exhibit his sterling capacities and skills to contribute in whatever capacity he will find himself to better the fortune of the Ghana Arms Forces” Minister stated.
Mrs. Evelyn Ama Kumi-Richardson, said hard work remained his major principle during his (4)four years’ stay with them as a Regional Commanding Officer,and encouraged junior and senior officers to work hard.
Taking over from the outgoing commanding officer is Lt. Col John Yaw Kwateng.
” Let me reiterate that DNK Adjetey served the region with distinct selflessness and honour for which we are extremely grateful. In similar vein,on behalf of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council, the chiefs and people of the Bono region, it is my fervent wish to officially and warmly welcome the incoming commanding officer Lt. Col JY Kwateng to the region” Minister added.
She called on him to bring his best to bear on the continuous maintenance of Peace and security in the Three regions.
The Minister urged him to feel at home and enjoy the wonderful and unsurpassable hospitality of the people of the region.
Lt.Col. DNK Adjetey was presented with a citation by Regional Security Council(REGSEC),undisclosed money from Regional Minister family and other gifts and souvenirs from his former colleagues and staff of the service as a gesture of appreciation.
