The Upper East Region has recorded four new cases of the COVID-19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the region to eight.
The laboratory feedback was received on Thursday, 16 April 2020.
Of the four cases, three are contacts of the first confirmed case and for the first time, one of the cases was detected through routine surveillance in the Bawku Municipality.
However, the case in Bawku passed on before the laboratory results were received from KCCR.
A statement signed by the Regional Director of Health for the region, Dr Winfred Ofosu said they have initiated steps to communicate the results of the affected persons and to immediately identify all contacts of the new cases for immediate quarantine.
The statement further appealed for calm among residents of the region.
Ghana has recorded 641 COVID-19 cases, eight deaths with 83 recoveries.
