COVID-19:Nana Bosoma Market closed down over disregard for social distancing directive


The Sunyani Municipal Assembly together with the Sunyani Traditional Council has announced a closure of the Nana Bosoma Market on April 21, 2020.

The move is to ensure market women adhere to social distancing and other preventive protocols outlined by the World Health Organization.

A statement from the joint force from the Sunyani Municipal Assembly and Sunyani Traditional Council said other appropriate places have been designated for market purposes.

It said ” Coronation Park: vegetables such as tomatoes, onions, garden eggs, pepper, ginger, etc and foodstuffs such as cassava, yam, cocoyam, plantain” whiles Twene Amanfo Secondary Technical School is designated for the sale of Shoes, Sandals and Bags. Jubilee Park: Secondhand Clothing”.

Ghana’s case count stands at 1,042 with death toll sitting at 9. According to the government, 99 people have been treated and discharged whiles others are hopeful of recovery soon.
