The Ahafo Region has recorded its first positive case of the Covid-19 after several suspect cases.
The Region becomes the last Region in Ghana to record a COVID-19 case, with only one case.
Information available indictates that, the patient had contracted the virus after coming into contact with a pregnant woman at the St Theresa’s Hospital at Hwidiem who has also tested positive at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
Dr. Boakye Boateng, the Ahafo Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service in an interview with Pulsenewsgh.com, stated that they have put in place needed things to ensure that the virus would not spread in the region.
“The patient is currently in isolation and receiving treatment at Goaso the Ahafo Regional capital. The person is doing very well he is not sick, we have begun contact tracing,” Dr. Boateng disclosed.
Meanwhile,Bono East Region has also recorded six new coronavirus cases, this brings the region’s total cases to 13.
291 new cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in Ghana.
The new cases have pushed the country’s case count to 10,201.

Meanwhile, some 110 persons who tested positive for the disease have recovered pushing the recoveries count to 3,755.
