Radio West Africa 92.5 hits Bono Region


A newly established Fm station Radio West Africa 92.5 in Wenchi with the slogan “Feel The Difference”, has been commissioned into operation, taking the oomph of the airwaves to another level.

The vision of the station is to be the most valued, vital, and vibrant service; one that inspires people to look at the world from multiple perspectives and capitalizes on emerging opportunities to serve our audience and engage our communities.

The Mission is to provide a trusted and indispensable source of information, music, and entertainment while strengthening the civic and cultural life of the communities they serve.

Living up to its mission and vision, Radio West Africa has educative programmes dedicated to Public Organisations including the government’s Principal Public Relations Information Services Department (ISD) to give regular public education and updates on government policies and programmes.

Ghana Health Service (GHS) and others are also on the bill for the benefit of the listening public. The Akan speaking station again has programmes such as “Oman Mpuntuo”, “Amamere”, “Asetena Mu Nsem”, Time with Disabilities & Society”, amongst others, where duty bearers-M/DCEs, Assembly Members, etc are invited onto the platform to account their stewardship to their constituents.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Radio West Africa remarked that it had always been a dream come true to offer livelihoods to the people by creating employment opportunities, hence his initiative to establish multi-companies.

Addressing the gathering as the Special Guest of Honor to commission the radio station, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie expressed his joy for the establishment and operations of the station.

He urged the people in the Wenchi Municipality, all the catchment areas and beyond to be proud of their own asset, saying the station has come to stay with a further call on the general public to always tune in to 92.5 which has a wider coverage.

The General Manager of the station, Habiba Bint-Abdallah who spoke on the sidelines of the launch, said the listening public should expect nothing but the best content and programming that serve their interest bigger and better.

The occasion was also graced by the Chief of Akrobi Nana Ansiri Asakrah II, representing the Wenchi Traditional Council, Deputy Chief Imam for the Islamic Council, Heads of Departments/Organisations, among other dignitaries and invited guests, etc.
