Former TESCON President of the Sunyani Technical University (STU), Mr. Charles D Addo, has presented food items valued at Ghc8,00 to Zongo communities in support of this year Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The items were donated to four Muslim communities in the Kintampo South, namely; Jema Zongo, Krabonso Zongo, Anyima Zongo and Jema nkwanta Zongo all in the Bono East Region.
The items donated comprised bags of rice, cooking oil, bags of sugar, soft drinks, water and cash among others.
Last Friday, Muslims community celebrated Eid ul-Adha across the world, the Festival of Sacrifice is celebrated to commemorate the obedience of Abraham to Allah across the globe in every Islamic community.
The Festival of Sacrifice also marks the end of the yearly Hajj pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca.
The yearly sacrificial ritual is considered a time for Muslims to think of others as well as repent from one’s sins committed in the past.
Muslims sacrifice ram and cattle to represent Ibrahim’s (Abraham) commitment to God, where Allah came to him in a dream and asked him to sacrifice his only son as an act of obedience to God.
Participation in the sacrificial festival is mandatory for all obedient Muslims that can afford an animal.
Presenting the items, Mr. Charles D Addo who is NPP member and native of Kintampo said “this is just a small gesture to express my solidarity and love to Muslims in the constituency as they marked Eid-ul-Adha celebration”.
Mr. Charles D Addo who is also CEO of Addo Foundation called on them to continue to pray for the Presidency and the nation ahead of 2020 December 7 elections.
Alhaji Mahamma Baba, the Anyima Nzongo Iman who received the items expressed gratitude to Mr. Charles D Addo for the kind gesture, “I thank you on behalf of the four Iman’s and the people of the Zongo communities” he added.
He asked God to enlarge his businesses as well as protect his life and family.
