For Immediate Release

BONO REGIONAL POLICE COMMAND MUST STOP THEIR UNNECESSARY HARASSMENT OF MOTOR CYCLE OPERATORS AND COMMERCIAL DRIVERS IN THE BONO REGION

The Regional secretariat of the NPP has taken notice of the continuous and constant harassment of commercial drivers and motor cycle riders in the region especially in its capital Sunyani.

I wish to unreservedly condemn in no uncertain terms the activities of some police officers who have been deployed by the “sleeping” regional police commander to harass and extort monies from commercial drivers and motor cycle riders

The latest actions and tactics adopted by the Regional Police command clearly exposes their hidden agenda against the Bono Regional New Patriotic Party.

In the last three months, commercial drivers and motor cycle operators in the Bono region have faced unprecedented intimidation, harassment and pestering.

I am by this press release registering my displeasure and disgust at the tactics employed by the regional Police command to constantly harass commercial drivers and motor cycle operators in the region because same is unfortunate and if this harassment continues for the next two weeks, I will personally lead a demonstration with these commercial drivers and motor cycle operators against the Regional Police Command.

Thank you

Signed

Kwame Baffoe Abronye

Bono Regional Chairman
