Jamie Carragher explains why Man Utd will be hard to beat against liverpool

0 3

The Red Devils host rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday looking to build on their second-half performance against Atalanta in the Champions League as they came from two goals down to win 3-2.

Liverpool legend and pundit Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United’s comeback win over Atalanta will give them confidence against Liverpool.

While many thought it was a performance that shows immediate response following last weekend disappointing defeat against Leicester City, the fight United showed to come from behind has left Liverpool legend Carragher with some concerns.

‘I could see Man United winning this game,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘I think certainly on the back of what happened on Wednesday night, the atmosphere will be fantastic, especially at the start of the game.

‘Man United at home against Liverpool notoriously, going back 10 or 15 years, they’ve had Liverpool’s number in the fixture.

‘Liverpool have found it really difficult to win at Old Trafford and going back a long time, even the great Liverpool teams, it’s always been a venue Liverpool have struggled at.

‘Even in Jurgen Klopp’s time, I think he’s only won there once so it will always be a tough game for Liverpool no matter what the circumstances are or the quality of Man United.’

Liverpool sit second in the Premier League table, four points above their sixth-placed opponents, and also go into the match off the back of a 3-2 win in the Champions League.

Sunday’s clash will be a thrilling one as both teams will look to get one over each other and it remains to be seen who comes out on top.
