The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has stated that one of its platforms, ERESULTS.WAECGH.ORG, which is used to check results, experienced a technical glitch between 4.45 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021.
According to a statement on the company’s website, the glitch caused Grade B3 subjects with the interpretation GOOD to be altered to Grade A1.
It explained that Grade A1 was normally understood as EXCELLENT, but that “the interpretation of A1 as GOOD is still visible, obviously suggesting an error.”
It may be recalled that there was a rumor yesterday that the WAEC website had been hacked and that candidate results had been modified.
Candidates, parents, and the general public were all concerned about the situation.
The notice stated, “The system has been taken down and the problem has been resolved.”
“Our Results Database is secure and intact,” the company told the public.
It expressed heartfelt regret to the people for the anxiety and inconvenience it had caused.
