The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court had on Monday, November 8, sentenced a former Nigerian pension management official, Mr Abdulrasheed Maina to 61 years jail term for offences bordering on money laundering and racketeering.
The condemned, Mr Maina will spend only eight years in jail because the court sentences are to run concurrently.by Justice Okon Abang.The prosecuting witness, Mr Abang, gave testimony that Mr Maina bribed bankers at Fidelity Bank to falsify money transactions.
He was found guilty of depositing up to N2.3 billion meant for pensioners, in Fidelity Bank, in three installments which violates extant money laundering regulations.
