Freddie Blay, the National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, is urging government appointees to assist party members and activities rather than using their positions to arrogantly remove themselves from the party base for personal gain.
“You have failed the party and undermined its foundations if your service to Ghana as an appointee does not equally boost the image of the party and also help better the lives of the party faithful,” he says.
Mr Blay tasked those political appointees who find themselves privileged to hold positions one way or by being in government to recognize that the opportunity granted should serve the party’s interest, speaking at the National Delegates’ Conference held in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital on Sunday.
Mr. Blay also urged Party members to be more courageous and determined in their fight against the opposition, and to avoid falling prey to the opposition’s poisonous propaganda when they resort to agitations and distortions.
He also advised party members to learn from their past mistakes, particularly by avoiding the actions and inactions that have characterized and led to acrimonious and rancorous campaigns in the past.
“The impending internal elections should be a tremendous show,” he remarked.

“Get in shape for battle.”
