Controversial Gladson Awako, a Ghanaian midfielder, has asked with Hearts of Oak fans to forgive him for his prolonged absence from the club.
Despite signing a contract with the Phobians in August 2021, Awako, 30, hasn’t practiced with them in several weeks.
Ghanasportsonline.com reported on the midfielder’s decision to leave the Ghanaian double winners following allegations of spiritual abuse.
Awako is now controlled by a consortium led by Yussif Chibsah, a former Asante Kotoko and Ghana midfielder.
Meanwhile, Great Olympics has claimed that the former TP Mazembe midfielder must return to the Wonder Club because Hearts of Oak failed to meet their financial obligations under the two clubs’ transfer agreement.
However, as he prepares to return to Hearts of Oak, Awako has asked for patience and forgiveness from the club’s supporters.
“Everything is now in order. “I’m ready to return to the club, therefore I’m begging the supporters to forgive me for whatever happened,” he said in an Asempa FM SportsNite interview.
Hearts of Oak signed Awako for their CAF interclub competition assignment, but he did not play in any of their three CAF Champions League games due to his outstanding concerns.
