I no longer have anything to do with Jerome – Kevin Prince Boateng
Kevin Prince Boateng, the Black Stars’ player, has stated unequivocally that he has distanced himself from his younger brother Jerome Boateng, words he made following his recent court trial.
The two are biological brothers with mixed parents, German Christine Rahn and Ghanaian father Prince Boateng, but they haven’t been on good terms for years, with Kevin switching nationalities to play for Ghana while Jerome chose to represent Germany and was a member of their World Cup-winning squad in 2014.
Jerome Boateng was charged with domestic assault in 2018 after harming his fiancée during their vacation, despite his denial.
Kevin Prince Boateng, 34, stated that he had nothing to do with his younger brother and that he opposes violence against women and respects German law. In an interview with BILD Sport in Germany, he made these surprising claims.
“I’ve been estranged from Jérôme for a long time. I value and respect German law. I abhor violence against women. I don’t relate with my brother’s behavior, thus I have nothing to do with him anymore.”
Kelvin Prince Boateng is currently with Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga, while his brother Jerome Boateng has moved to Olympique Lyon in the French Ligue 1 after leaving Bayern Munich following a long year.
