‘I Would Rather Retire Than Play For Man Utd’ – Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold, a Liverpool defender, has stated unequivocally that he would sooner retire than play for Manchester United.

The most successful clubs in England are Liverpool and Manchester United. For decades, the two have battled for bragging rights, and their rivalry is intense.

The North West Derby is something that everyone at Liverpool and Manchester United is aware of. Local players at both clubs, on the other hand, have a lot more feelings about the rivalry.

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford and Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones are both Merseyside natives. Alexander-Arnold is another Liverpudlian who has established himself as a vital member of the Reds’ squad.

Whether you’re a local lad or not, playing for Manchester United after leaving Liverpool or vice versa is frowned upon by both teams’ fans, and Alexander-Arnold is well aware of this. When asked if he would retire or play for Manchester United, the 23-year-old said to Sky Sports:

“Right now, I’d retire because I couldn’t do it [join Manchester United],” he said.

Alexander-Arnold also revealed that he would rather play for Manchester United than Everton in the Merseyside Derby. He stated, “

“Manchester United, after all, has a longer history. Manchester United, because more people watch it.”

In October, Alexander-Arnold played a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s side’s 5-0 win over Manchester United. When the Red Devils come to Anfield in the Premier League in March, he’ll be looking to do the same.
