Chelsea went above and beyond in avenging their Champions League loss to Juventus on Tuesday evening, thrashing the Italian team 4-0 at Stamford Bridge, compounding Massimiliano Allegri’s woes.
After suffering a 1-0 defeat in Turin, Thomas Tuchel’s team were clearly out for vengeance in London, and it didn’t take long for them to grab the lead, with Trevoh Chalobah scoring after the ball had fallen to him via Antonio Rudiger’s arm.
Reece James added a second after the break, before Callum Hudson-Odoi finished three minutes later after being spotted by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Until stoppage time, Wojciech Szczesny kept things from getting any worse for Juventus. Timo Werner then appeared to add a fourth goal in the 95th minute. Hakim Ziyech intercepted Weston McKennie’s pass to break down the left side and set up the German for a goal.
