Man City 2-1 PSG: Mbappe scores, and Jesus’ goal and assist help City come back from a deficit.

Manchester City fought back from a goal down to defeat Paris Saint-Germain and advance to the Champions League last 16 as Group A winners.

After Kylian Mbappe swept PSG into a 50th-minute lead, City’s superb performance was rewarded, as they displayed grit as well as class.

Mauricio Pochettino, who had been linked with Manchester United following the resignation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was left disappointed as City came back strongly to win the game.

After 63 minutes, Raheem Sterling continued his recent strong form by turning home Kyle Walker’s far post touch to equalise. Then, 13 minutes later, replacement Gabriel Jesus took advantage of a brilliant lay-off from Bernardo Silva to beat PSG goalkeeper Kaylor Navas from close range.

PSG’s superstar combination of Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar posed an intermittent menace, but City posed the greater threat, and this was a well-deserved victory, advancing them to the last 16 before facing RB Leipzig in their final Group A match, which will be played behind closed doors.
