Manasseh Azure has been accused by the Lighthouse Chapel International of making unjustifiable and illegal accusations against the church and its founder Bishop Dag Heward-Mills in the release of three pieces titled “Darkness in a Lighthouse.” In a triple-barreled retaliation, the church has filed three separate defamation lawsuits against Manasseh Azure, Suleman Braimah, Edwin Appiah, and the Media Foundation For West Africa.
On December 10th, 2021, the lawsuits were filed. According to the Statements of Claim, Manasseh Azure and the three others collaborated on a trio of essays titled “Darkness in a Lighthouse” in April 2021, in which they launched blistering and insulting attacks on the LCI and its founder Bishop Dag Heward-Mills. Given the large international presence of the Lighthouse Chapel International and the host of international churches and establishments that collaborate with the LCI, the articles sent shockwaves and bolts of thunderstorms across the country and into the international media sphere. LCI churches can be found in 95 countries throughout the world.
