Salah was at it again at Vicarage Road, hitting a spectacular effort and setting up two more goals in the 5-0 win against Watford, two weeks after scoring one of the most famous goals of recent years in the draw with Manchester City.
Salah’s goal was his tenth of the season, and his eighth in Liverpool’s past eight games.
Klopp was in no mood to temper his praise for Salah, dubbing him the best player on the planet.
“His performance was outstanding,” he told BT Sport. The first goal’s pass was fantastic, and the second goal was really impressive. He is the best in the business. It’s obvious to everyone. Is there anyone that can compare to him? We do not need to discuss Messi and Ronaldo’s contributions to world football or their supremacy. But he’s the best right now.”
“It was good!” Klopp said when asked how he felt about the team’s overall performance. I’m afraid I can’t agree. It’s difficult to get back into the swing of things after an international break when you’ve been playing various systems, but despite only having one session prior to today, the boys were outstanding. We didn’t let Watford play because I believe they had good ideas. The goals were incredible, and the attitude was fantastic.
