Nana For Forbes Award Is Toasted By The NPP

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated President Akufo-Addo on being named African of the Year for 2021.

The award was given to President Akufo-Addo by Forbes Africa Magazine, which recognizes Africans who have had a significant impact on the continent and on the global stage. The magazine has previously honored Rwandan President Paul Kagame (2018), African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina (2019), and Nigerian Director General of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (2020).

“The award is an honor, and it signifies the world is looking at the work we are doing here in Ghana,” Akufo-Addo remarked. As a result, it serves as an inspiration and encouragement to us to continue on the course we’ve established for ourselves.”

“NPP is pleased to join the rest of the world to say a hearty congratulations to the President of the Republic, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his deserving recognition as the 2021 African of the Year by the reputable Forbes African Magazine,” said the NPP’s congratulatory statement, signed by the party’s General Secretary John Boadu.

“On December 3, 2021, Africa’s largest magazine, Forbes, bestowed this magnificent honor on Ghana’s President, noting, among other things, that ‘Ghana’s President has repositioned the country in the global marketplace as one reliant on its own resources…’.”

“Without a doubt, this acknowledgment is a further validation of President Akufo-sterling Addo’s leadership in directing the affairs of our country and bringing prosperity to its people,” the statement stated. More importantly, this honor reaffirms the President’s unwavering commitment to charting a path toward the realization of the African dream and beyond.

“The NPP also notes with delight that this honor follows a similar honor bestowed on the President less than 24 hours ago, when he was named the first ever International Nation Builders Award recipient by Black US Legislators at the 45th Annual National Black Caucus of State Legislators in Atlanta, Georgia.”

“Ghana, and for that matter Africa, cannot be blessed with a greater transformative leader, particularly at these important times where the continent is on a road for a rebound and growth of its economy following the ravages of COVID-19,” the NPP General Secretary added. Indeed, we have found in President Akufo-Addo the leader who will lead us to the promised land, to the glory of God and country.”
