On Saturday, Sergi Barjuan took charge of Barcelona’s first team for the first time, as they drew 1-1 at home against Alaves.
The Catalan team hasn’t had a good start to the season and didn’t show much improvement at the Camp Nou, prompting some harsh words from Barjuan after the game.
Players are unhappy with the interim coach’s statements about the club’s injury problems, according to Esports3.
He answered, “It is what it is.”
“There is nothing else that can be done. Ronald Koeman has already stated as much.”
He did, however, have some kind words for his teammates.
“Looking ahead to Tuesday,” he added, “we’ll try to round up the players.”
“We’ll make sure they realize they’re a good team and that they have to believe in themselves,” says the coach.
Barjuan is in charge on an interim basis while the club works out a contract for Xavi to become the permanent head coach. He’ll be in charge of the team against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday.
