The trial of Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, who has been charged for offences bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit cards and fraud, resumed on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Recall that the EFCC had arraigned the artiste Naira Marley, before the Federal High Court, Lagos between 2018 and 2019.Naira Marley was arraigned for allegedly conspiring with his accomplices to use different ATM cards to defraud their victims.
On Tuesday, October 26, the second prosecution witness, Anosike Augustine, a forensic expert with the EFCC gave testimony before the court. Anosike testified that about 2,410 short messages were retrieved from the iPhone of the defendant, which the defendant used in defrauding his victims.
According to the witness, the Apple iPhone is a sophisticated device capable of storing a large volume of information, adding that it is the sim card that basically identifies users of applications such as WhatsApp.
Anosike read out before the court some credit card numbers, OTP codes, and messages sent from Naira Marley iPhone at different occasions.The prosecutor also gave his own testimony. The case has however been adjourned to a later date.
