Epixode, the reigning Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, has stated that in order to thrive in the Ghanaian music industry, every musician must demonstrate some amount of inventiveness in their trade.
His remarks follow the passing of the torch of music to Epixode by legendary Ghanaian singer Nat Brew, also known as Amandzeba, in light of Epixode’s innovative achievements in the music industry thus far.
Epixode’s flexibility has been praised by many for his originality in the music industry, particularly his stage presence.
“Every artiste requires creativity to survive in the industry, and you may show more originality when you’re part of a recording label, where other members of the team help you with your creativity.
“People are engaged in other jurisdictions to decide what an artiste should wear on stage, as well as other creatives that come with a performance. In order to gain noticed, musicians must invest in the creative element of their profession,” he told Ghana News Agency in an interview.
“It is an honor and a blessing to be recognized as one of the most creative artistes in the country by the Legendary Ghanaian musician Amandzeba, and this shows that some artistes in the industry have some good content to offer,” Epixode said when asked about Amandzeba passing the mantle of music to him.
Epixode also stated that his initiative to assist up-and-coming musicians is still ongoing, as he plans to feature 50 of them in his next project, which he hopes will generate favorable results and motivate them to advance further in their careers.
