The inaugural edition of the annual Ghana Music Awards-Dubai (GMA-Dubai) will take place on January 30, 2022, according to the organizers.

The awards program, which is the first of its kind, was established to recognize and honour notable creative arts industry people in Ghana and abroad who have positively contributed to the continuous expansion of Ghana’s music business.

The event is scheduled to gather a significant number of Ghanaian musicians, music industry professionals, and music fans from all over the country.

The organizers have lined up several well-known Ghanaian artists to perform during the event to delight fans.

The awards program, which is an annual event to be hosted in Dubai (UAE) and is organized by Medvic Media, a subsidiary of Medvic Company Limited, is intended at increasing the standard of Ghanaian music on the international music scene.

The event is also intended to promote excellence and offer recognition to Ghanaian musicians in the music industry in Ghana, the United States, and other countries in Europe, Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, according to the organizers.

The awards system, they said, is also intended to build a platform that will promote a smooth working connection between Ghanaian musicians and their counterparts in Dubai and other areas of the world through collaborations.

The organizers, on the other hand, pointed out that Dubai is a commercial metropolis with a diverse cultural landscape, with African music and culture receiving substantial attention.

“Most Africans in the UAE, including Ghanaians, Nigerians, South Africans, and Ugandans, commemorate a variety of occasions. Africans continue to visit the city as a vacation resort. As a result, the country gets exposed to African culture and music,” they explained.
