In the case of Josephine Panyin Mensah, a supposedly extremely pregnant woman in Takoradi who reportedly fabricated her kidnapping and claimed her new baby was taken away, eight witnesses will testify.

The much-anticipated trial will begin on January 6, 2022, at Takoradi’s Circuit Court ‘A’, presided over by His Honour Michael Ampadu.

Three medical doctors, the accused person’s husband, and her mother will be among the eight witnesses.

In his disclosures to the court to finish the Case Management Conference (CMC) yesterday, prosecutor Supt. Emmanuel Basintele revealed this.

He named the witnesses as Michael Simons, the accused person’s spouse; Agnes Essel, the accused person’s mother; Michael Prah, an Axim native; and Ebenezer Nyame, another Axim native.

Dr. George Peprah of the Takoradi Hospital, Dr. Jerry James Abrokwa of the Axim Government Hospital, Dr. Samuel Agyemang of the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, and Detective Inspector Anfel Archims are among the rest.

The prosecutor informed the court that Detective Inspector Archims will submit a police wireless message proclaiming the accused missing, as well as an image of her.

He’ll also seek an order from a District Magistrate Court requiring MTN Ghana to release information, including cell phone numbers.
