Wildaland: Davido, Stonebwoy, R2bees, And Over 20 Other Top Acts To Perform At Africa’s “Glastonbury”
The inaugural WILDALAND Festival, set for the Shai Forest Reserve in the Greater Accra Region on the 26th and 27th of December, has announced a stellar lineup of Afrobeats stars from Ghana and Nigeria.
The WILDALAND festival, dubbed “Africa’s Glastonbury,” is a music and entertainment lifestyle festival that aims to deliver a unique entertainment experience that brings together the finest of both African audiences in the wild every December in Ghana.
The festival will be marked by ultra-immersive real-time social material, as well as a big return to live events. The headliners for this year’s event are Davido, R2Bees, and Stonebwoy. Adekunle Gold, Omah Lay, JoeBoy, Oxlade, Buju, Lojay, CKay, and Ruger have joined Nigeria’s roster.
KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Black Sherrif, Gyakie, Wendy Shay, Kwabena Kwabena, Camidoh, Yaw Tog, and Kofi Jamar round up Ghana’s representation.
The festival, which the organizers describe as a “experiential haven,” is part of a growing portfolio of year-end activities that allow Africa’s massive diaspora audiences to meet their resident African middle-class counterparts at some of the continent’s biggest parties in Ghana, according to the organizers.
Ghana has become a hub for Pan-African manifestations, thanks to the recent ‘Year of Return’ campaign and other initiatives.
In the meantime, in addition to being a 48-hour nonstop celebration of culture, the festival is also dedicated to protecting the forest, wildlife, and amplifying wildlife conservation through its #PartyWiththePlanet campaign, which requires festival attendees to sign a pledge to protect the forest and wildlife while taking actions at the festival to demonstrate their commitment.
