Step 1 Use a large serrated knife to gently trim and discard icing from cakes2 x 600g plain chocolate mud cakes. Cut each cake in half horizontally. From the cake, cut 2 side wall pieces (5 x 8cm), 2 roof pieces (8 x 13cm) and front and back wall pieces (5 x 7cm with 7cm gables).
Step 2 Line a tray with baking paper. Place cake pieces on prepared tray. Use a palette knife to spread dark chocolate2 x 290g pkt dark chocolate melts, melted over top and sides of each cake piece. Set aside to set.
Step 3 Turn over pieces and trim any rough edges. Spread uncovered side with chocolate. Set aside to set.
Step 4 Spoon dark chocolate along base and side edges of front wall piece. Stand upright on a cake board until set. Spoon chocolate along 1 long side edge and both short side edges of 1 side wall piece. Stand long side on board and attach to front wall. Repeat with remaining side wall piece then attach back wall. Fill house with most of the Gummy Rings180g pkt Life Savers Duos Gummy Rings lollies. Spoon chocolate over side edges of roof pieces. Secure on sides of gables and walls to create roof. Set aside until set.
Step 5 Use a little more dark chocolate to attach most of the biscuits200g chocolate finger biscuits to the roof to cover. Attach 1 Flake2 x 30g Flake bars along roof seam. Trim remaining Flake at an angle and attach to roof to form a chimney. Trim remaining biscuits and use picture as a guide to attach to front wall to form a door. Use dark chocolate to attach marshmallows30g (1/2 cup) mini pink and white marshmallows, raspberry lollies190g Allen’s Ripe Raspberries lollies, hazelnuts45g (1/4 cup) hazelnuts, roasted and pretzels2 mini star-shaped pretzels to front, side and back walls.
Step 6 Spoon white chocolate80g white chocolate melts, melted into a small sealable plastic bag and snip off 1 corner. Pipe ‘drips’ of white chocolate on roof edges and roof seam. Use remaining Gummy Rings to form a path. Dust house lightly with icing sugarIcing sugar, to dust.
